Brazil’s Minister of Ports and Airports, Silvio Costa Filho, announced over R$6 billion in investments for projects in Bahia, including the ports of Ilhéus and Salvador, Barreiras airport, and two waterways. Additionally, R$4.6 billion was approved for Bamin Mineração S.A. to build a terminal at Porto Sul in Ilhéus. Key projects include dredging at Ilhéus Port, resurfacing Salvador Port’s quay, and the construction of a new passenger terminal at Barreiras airport. The expansion of Tecon Salvador terminal will also receive R$942 million in funding.
