The ports of Santa Catarina handled 63.5 million tons in 2024, a 2.98% increase from 2023. Despite challenges such as expansion works at Portonave and the resumption of Itajaí operations, record productivity in Itapoá, São Francisco do Sul, and Imbituba drove growth. São Francisco do Sul led with 17 million tons (+0.75%), followed by Imbituba with 8.3 million tons (+8.06%). Itapoá became the top container port, moving 14 million tons (+19%), while Portonave handled 13 million tons (-8.34%). Itajaí rebounded with 1 million tons (+194%). Other terminals, including São Francisco do Sul’s Aquaviary Terminal, moved 10.2 million tons.
