PORT OF SUAPE COMPLETES EXTERNAL CHANNEL DREDGING

The Port of Suape achieved a crucial milestone by deepening its external channel to 20 meters, enhancing operational efficiency. This advancement initiates a new phase, including the marking system and Brazilian Navy approval. Suape, ranking sixth in cargo movement, handled 23,982,451 tons in 2023. The dredging enables accommodating large vessels like Suezmax oil tankers, optimizing liquid bulk terminals and benefiting the Abreu e Lima Refinery. CEO Marcio Guiot notes its significance for infrastructure and expansion plans, attracting more operations. This development, along with ongoing internal channel dredging, will enhance competitiveness and benefit public pier operators. The project cost R$140 million and removed 1,700,000 cubic meters of sediment, marking a timely and significant achievement for Suape and the region.
