The Bureau Veritas Group has assessed the quality of over 135,000 tonnes of S10 diesel received at the Port of Itaqui, produced in the United Arab Emirates and transported to Brazil on the Zumbi dos Palmares oil tanker. Due to the cargo’s dimensions, the content was distributed among the port terminal and three other vessels, requiring a logistics operation three times larger than usual. The Group worked for five uninterrupted days to assess the quality and volume of the largest diesel import in the history of the North/Northeast region of Brazil. Part of the fuel, 55,000 tons, was stored in the terminals at the Port of Itaqui itself, while three ships received 40,000, 11,000, and 18,000 tonnes, respectively.
