Brazil’s Center-South is expected to harvest 606.5 million tons of sugarcane in 2023–2024, an increase of 10.6% over the previous cycle, according to the consultancy Datagro on Thursday 29. Sugar production could set a new record. The prior projection was for a harvest of 598.5 million tons in Brazil’s primary sugarcane-producing area.
