Canada was Brazil’s salvation in the supply of fertilizers this year. The country increased by 71% the volume exported to Brazilians from January to June compared to the same period last year. Total Brazilian imports of fertilizers totaled 19.4 million tonnes in the first six months of this year, a volume 17% higher than in the same period last year. Spending, however, increased by 178% in the period due to high international prices. As a result, the cost was US$ 12.8 billion in the period. In 2021, Brazil imported 41.2 million tonnes worth US$ 15.2 billion.
