AS THE SECOND LARGEST USER OF THE PORT OF PARANAGUÁ, MS WILL GAIN COMPETITIVENESS WITH THE NEW FERROESTE.

Mato Grosso do Sul has become the second-largest user of the Port of Paranaguá, driven by increased grain transport. The port has seen a 32% increase in cargo movement, with a focus on soybeans, soybean meal, and corn. The Central-Western state of Brazil aims to enhance logistics for cargo transportation and unloading at the port through strategic projects by the Government of Paraná. One of these initiatives is the New Ferroeste, a railway line that will directly connect Maracaju to Paranaguá, alongside the Moegão, a facility designed for receiving railway-delivered goods. These endeavors are geared towards increasing cargo transport competitiveness, making it more cost-effective and efficient, while also reducing the environmental footprint. The New Ferroeste will link Maracaju and Paranaguá, decreasing reliance on road transport. These combined projects are expected to make the Port of Paranaguá even more appealing for cargo from other states.
