ITAJAÍ PORT TO RECEIVE R$600 MILLION IN FEDERAL GOVERNMENT INVESTMENTS

Itajaí Port in Santa Catarina will receive over R$600 million in federal government investments by the end of 2026, officially announced on Wednesday (7) at Fiesc headquarters. The funding, outlined by Port Superintendent João Paulo Tavares Bastos and APS President Anderson Pomini, aims to enhance port infrastructure and boost competitiveness. Approximately R$300 million will go toward building a new cruise pier, following a record cruise season that saw over 160,000 tourists. The investment plan also includes expansion of the access channel, improvements to the turning basin, adjustment of the breakwaters, removal of the sunken vessel Pallas, and reinforcement of the canal’s right margin. The Port, which reached R$64 million in revenue in 2025 (+158%), is central to a meeting in Brasília on Thursday (8), where officials will discuss the final concession bid for dredging services, expected to be published later this year.
