APS-ITAJAÍ SECURES NEW ENVIRONMENTAL LICENSE FOCUSED ON SUSTAINABLE GROWTH AND OPERATIONAL INNOVATION

The Santa Catarina Environmental Institute (IMA) has issued a new 48-month Operational Environmental License (LAO No. 1386/2025) for the Port of Itajaí, marking a significant achievement for the Santos Port Authority (APS), which took over the port in January. This new license aligns with APS’s expansion plans and strict environmental standards, featuring 16 environmental programs, including water quality monitoring, sediment testing, and dredging with sustainable practices. APS President Anderson Pomini highlighted the strong collaboration with IMA and local teams. Since APS’s takeover, Itajaí Port has seen a 125% increase in revenue, reaching R$50 million in just 100 days. The port also had a record-breaking cruise season, contributing positively to the local economy and fiscal revenue, including R$900,000 in ISS tax for the city.
