STONEX BOOSTS BRAZIL’S CORN PRODUCTION FORECAST TO 132.4 MILLION TONS AFTER STRONG OFF-SEASON PERFORMANCE

StoneX has raised its forecast for Brazil’s 2024-25 corn production to 132.4 million tons, citing a stronger-than-expected off-season crop, now estimated at 104.3 million tons, a 2.7% increase from prior projections. Favorable weather in April boosted crop development in the Midwest and South, reinforcing confidence in the outlook. However, further adjustments remain possible due to the reliance on weather conditions for late-sown areas. The first harvest remains at 25.9 million tons, while the third is barely over 2 million. The robust off-season performance is expected to ease current supply constraints and support price stability, driven by strong demand for corn ethanol and export demand in the second half of the year.
