AGRIBUSINESS IN BRAZIL SEES SIGNIFICANT GROWTH IN EARLY MONTHS

The Brazilian agribusiness industry sustained its strong momentum in early 2025, increasing by 0.6% in February according to the Agroindustrial Production Index (PIMAgro), compiled by the Getulio Vargas Foundation’s Center for Agribusiness Studies. The non-food items led the growth with a 2.8% surge. Year-to-date performance also showed steady progress, with the cumulative index for January-February 2025 up 0.6% compared to the same period in 2024. However, this growth lagged behind the broader manufacturing sector, which expanded by 2.5%. Meanwhile, according to FGV Agro, agro-industrial production grew somewhat in February, but that was relative to past months. The agricultural sector experienced a substantial 6.5% growth in February 2024.
