In 2024, Paraná solidified its status as Brazil’s agro-export powerhouse, shipping USD 14.2 billion worth of food and beverages to 176 countries. China dominated as the top buyer (USD 5.4 billion), followed by key markets like Iran, the UAE, South Korea, and trading partners across the EU and South America. Soybeans led exports at USD 5.3 billion, with chicken meat, soybean meal, and sugar also driving sales. This growth reflects the state’s strategic push to expand agricultural markets – evidenced by record poultry production (2.2 billion birds, 34.2% of Brazil’s total) and rising pig farming output (+2.32%), now nearing Santa Catarina’s levels. Paraná also reinforced its dominance in eggs, milk, and beans, with bean exports surging fivefold to 71,000 tons when compared to 2023.
