HOW BRAZIL’S PULP EXPORTS SAIL FROM SANTOS PORT TO THE WORLD

Using pulp for paper, textiles, drugs, and cosmetics, Brazil is the top supplier of this resource worldwide. With 8.1 million shipped via the Port of Santos, Brazil exported over 19.6 million pulp tons in 2023, more than 42% of the tonnage exported. The Port of Santos leads in pulp exports mainly because of its size and the five specialized terminals. Comprising 43.7% of exports, the Chinese market is the largest destination; followed by the United States and Italy. Major companies including Eldorado Brasil, Suzano, and Bracell have made investments in modernizing existing terminals, boosting export capacity, and streamlining logistical efficiency in order to meet growing worldwide demand. These initiatives support economic development and help Brazil to maintain its leadership worldwide in the industry.
