RECORD-BREAKING SUMMER CORN CROP EXPECTED IN PARANA FOR 2024-2025, SAYS DERAL

The first corn crop in Paraná has already achieved 90% of its harvest and is expected to be the most productive in history, at 10,627 kg/ha. The expected production is 2.8 million tons, 13% higher than 2023. Although the market is beneficial to the producer, future prices could drop as the worldwide harvest increases. Conversely, soybeans suffered from the swings in the temperature and are probably going to end at 21.06 million tons, 5.3% below average. Horticulture prices saw swings: potatoes and onions dropped more than 50%; tomatoes increased 66.7% in wholesale. By 2025, grain output is expected to rise by 19%, to 45 million tons.
