BNDES approved BRL 216.6 million in funding to build warehouses in Paraná, Mato Grosso do Sul, and Minas Gerais through the Program for the Construction and Expansion of Warehouses (PCA) and Finem. The funds will be distributed to cooperatives and businesses including Copacol, Coamo, Energética Santa Helena, and Vale do Paracatu. The project will increase capacity for grain and sugar storage, therefore improving agro-industrial production logistics and efficiency. Santa Helena will also be able to alternate in production of sugar and ethanol. The initiative sees thousands of direct and indirect employment generated. Aligned with government’s objectives, it also boosts agricultural output and strengthens national food security, said BNDES.
