Eduardo Monteiro from Mosaic said the predicted record crop in 2024–25 will boost the fertilizer industry. Growers will have to replenish more minerals in the soil given a projection of 325.7 million tons of grains, 9.4% higher than in the previous season. With the industry on target to reach a new high of 46 million, fertilizer deliveries in Brazil hit 45.6 million tons in 2024. The improved exchange ratio between grains and inputs also boosts demand. Corn has climbed 13% in the last six months, but soybeans have kept prices steady. Monteiro, who also chairs Anda, reminds out that the reaction of corn can provide strong profitability for producers as the costs of fertilizer raw materials stabilize or reduce.
