OPTMISM ABOUNDS FOR 2024-25 HARVEST AMONG FARMERS AND ENTITIES IN RIO GRANDE DO NORTE

The 2024-2025 harvest in Rio Grande do Norte is off to a strong start thanks to the regular rainfall and full reservoirs, which enhance productivity and runoff from production. Erivaldo Luiz and Lúcia Romão were among the farmers who benefited from Senar’s technical assistance as they expanded their farms and were able to obtain financing through the Crop Plan. The Crop Plan released BRL 718 million, a 19% increase from the previous harvest. Public policies, such as PECAFES, promote commercialization of government initiatives. However, if the Crop Guarantee is not paid on time, 25,000 farmers can lose BRL 30 million in benefits.
