BNDES FINANCING FOR AGRIBUSINESS GROWS 26% IN 2024 AND REACHES R$52.3 BILLION

The BNDES approved R$52.3 billion in financing for Brazilian agribusiness in 2024, a 26% increase from 2023 and 92% from 2022. The funds supported rural producers, cooperatives, family farmers, and agro-industries in expanding production, acquiring machinery, and promoting innovation. Over 191,000 loan operations were conducted, with R$38.2 billion allocated through the Federal Government’s Agricultural Programs. Additionally, R$7.9 billion was issued via BNDES Rural Credit, and R$5.9 billion was directed to Rio Grande do Sul for climate adaptation and economic recovery. The BNDES emphasizes sustainable practices and low-carbon initiatives as key to its agricultural financing efforts.
