On Wednesday (18), the National Waterway Transport Agency (ANTAQ) held the auction of three port terminals in the states of Rio de Janeiro, Amapá, and Alagoas. The auction resulted in R$60.5 million in grant values for the public treasury and secured total investments estimated at R$3.62 billion over the course of the lease agreements. Auctioned Terminals were MAC16 – Port of Maceió (AL), dedicated to handling and storing general solid bulk; MCP03 – Port of Santana (AP), the terminal focused on handling and storing solid and vegetable bulk; and ITG02 – Port of Itaguaí (RJ) which specializes in handling solid mineral bulk. The auction underscored the agency’s commitment to advancing Brazil’s port infrastructure, fostering competitiveness, and driving economic growth.
