Rio Grande do Sul has recorded a sugarcane harvest with good results in the administrative region of Emater/RS-Ascar in Santa Rosa. According to the Informativo Conjuntural released last Thursday (12), the cultivated area reaches 2,234 hectares, with an average projected productivity of 55 tons per hectare. Producers highlight the positive performance of the SP 813250 variety, especially in the conversion into molasses and brown sugar, attributing the good yield to regular rainfall since the second half of 2023 and high temperatures. The average price received by the producer is R$ 124.61 per ton. In the Brazilian domestic market, crystal sugar prices continue to fall, according to the Cepea/Esalq Indicator from USP. On Monday, a 50-kilo bag was sold for R$160.77, a 0.32% drop compared to the previous Friday.
