FERTILIZER DELIVERIES SLOW IN SEPTEMBER, BUT MARKET IS WELL SUPPLIED

In the accumulated period up to September this year, Brazil registered a 1.8% reduction in fertilizer deliveries, which were 32.88 million tons, compared to 33.50 million in the same period in 2023. However, the market is fully supplied, according to the National Association for the Diffusion of Fertilizers (ANDA), which points out the natural seasonality of demand in the agricultural sector. September’s specific data reveal that deliveries totaled 4.85 million tons. This volume represents a drop of 0.8% compared to the same month last year, when 4.89 million were delivered. On the other hand, the national production of intermediate fertilizers registered growth both in September and in the accumulated nine months. In the month, 692 thousand tons were produced, an increase of 11.8% in the year-on-year comparison with 2023. Imports also continued to rise. In September, Brazil imported 4.22 million tons of intermediate fertilizers, marking a growth of 6.7% compared to the same month in 2023.
