According to the Emater/RS-Ascar Conjunctural Newsletter, the 2024 Rio Grande do Sul wheat harvest advanced 2 percentage points in just seven days, reaching 99% of the planned area. The works were at 98% in the same period last year and on average in recent years. “Planting is done later in the regions of Campanha, Sul, and Campos de Cima da Serra to prevent dangers, particularly cold during the flowering and grain filling stages”, said the entity. The estimated yield is 3,116 kg/ha, and the total farmed area is 1,322,167 hectares.
