PORT OF PARANAGUÁ SIGNS FIRST ACCESS CHANNEL CONCESSION IN BRAZIL

The order for the first concession of a public port access channel in Brazil was signed at the Port of Paranaguá on Friday (6) by Silvio Costa Filho, Minister of Ports and Airports. The concession is expected to take place in the first half of 2025. The project states that the concessionaire will have 25 years to manage the facility, with a potential extension of up to 70 years. It is expected that upgrades will cost more than BRL 1 billion. This is the first model designed for this particular transportation. The Port of Paranaguá’s capacity will quadruple with the concession of the channel and projects like raising the port’s draft from 11.5 meters to nearly 15 meters.
