In October, the Port of São Francisco do Sul reached a historic milestone by exporting 1.1 million tonnes, with soybeans (583,000 tonnes) and corn (476,000 tonnes) being the main exports, primarily to China. Soybeans accounted for 11% of Brazil’s total soybean exports, generating BRL 2.6 billion in revenue. Port president Cleverton Vieira credited the achievement to efficient equipment maintenance and investments in the Export Corridor. The Tesc terminal played a significant role, exporting 332,000 tonnes of corn after infrastructure upgrades. October’s total cargo throughput reached 1.67 million tonnes, a 12% increase over September, with 588,000 tonnes of inbound cargo, including steel and fertilizers.
