MS WILL EXPAND BIOFUEL CHAINS SUCH AS SAF AND GREEN DIESEL

Governor Eduardo Riedel of Mato Grosso do Sul aims to transform the state into a model of sustainability and achieve carbon neutrality by 2030. This effort aligns with the federal government’s “Fuel of the Future” program, launched to promote the decarbonization of transportation and enhance Brazil’s position as a leader in biofuels. Mato Grosso do Sul, a major ethanol producer, plans to expand its biofuels industry, focusing on Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and Green Diesel. Secretary Jaime Verruck emphasized that the program not only encourages decarbonization but also creates a regulatory framework to drive innovation in the bioenergy sector. With ambitious goals for aviation emissions reduction starting in 2027, the state is poised to become a significant player in the biofuels market while promoting sustainability and economic growth.
