RIO GRANDE PORT DOMINATES WITH 81.7% OF THE STATE’S SHIP MOVEMENT FROM JANUARY TO SEPTEMBER 2024

Rio Grande do Sul handled 31.8 million tons of cargo between January and September 2024; the Port of Rio Grande led with 2,181 vessels, 81.78% of the total. The port moved 19.8 million tons of dry bulk, with a focus on wood chips (+10.11%), cellulose (+6.32%), wheat (+6.19%), and soybeans (+2.57%). Container volume increased as well, now at 580,735 TEUs.
