SEPTEMBER SEES SUGAR EXPORTS SOAR TO 3.9 MILLION TONS, SETTING A NEW MONTHLY RECORD

According to the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex), Brazil’s sugar export earnings increased by 11.9% in September 2024 despite a 9.7% decline in the average value. The country exported 3.95 million tons of sugar and molasses, a 23.9% rise over 3.19 million tons shipped in the same month of 2023. The average daily export volume increased to 188,275.4 tons from 159,546.7 tons in the previous year. With an average price of USD 455.8/ton, total revenues in 2023 were USD 1.82 billion, compared to USD 1.62 billion and USD 509.2/ton.
