SUMMER CORN CROP SOWING IN BRAZIL ACCELERATES

Despite adverse weather, planting for the 2024-25 summer harvest has begun in Brazil’s key producing areas. According to Conab, as of September 15, 12% of the designated corn planting area has been completed, compared to 9.7% the previous week and 15% at the same period in 2023. Most of the activities take place in Brazil’s southern states. Cepea observes that some vendors have been more flexible in terms of pricing as foreign demand has decreased. In some consumer categories, prices have fallen, while in others they have remained unchanged.
