IMBITUBA PORT COMPLEX HANDLED FIVE MILLION TONS IN THE FIRST SEVEN MONTHS OF 2024

The Port of Imbituba noted historical numbers in the first seven months of 2024 with a 12% increase in cargo handling – around 5 million tons. The number of ships increased by 13% compared to 2023, with exports leading the way, up 13%. However, there were fewer movements in July 2024 than in the previous month and July 2023. Petroleum coke, sugar, and salt led the dry bulk movement, accounting for 81.5% of the operations. Foreign trade at the port moved more than USD 1.2 billion, a growth of 14.5%.
