STONEX SEES PRODUCTION OF 123.14 MILLION TONS OF CORN IN 2024/25

Brazil’s corn production is expected to rise in 2024/25 to 123.14 million tons from 121.8 million in 2023/24, according to preliminary figures from StoneX. This increase comes despite a reduction in the planted area for the first 2024/25 corn harvest from 3.64 million hectares to 3.4 million hectares due to low price discouragement. The biggest cuts are in Rio Grande do Sul, Paraná, Santa Catarina, and Goiás. StoneX’s initial estimate for the first 2024/25 corn harvest is 24.96 million tons, a 4.2% decrease from the previous cycle. Brazil primarily produces corn in the second harvest, with StoneX not yet projecting specific figures. Expected exports are 37.5 million tons, down from 40 million tons in 2023/24.
