BRAZIL AND THE USA PARTNER IN THE CLIMATE AREA TO UNLOCK SUSTAINABLE INVESTMENTS

The Brazilian Ministry of Finance and the US Treasury signed a partnership to strengthen ties in climate action, focusing on clean energy investments, carbon markets, and sustainable finance. The agreement, announced during G20 financial meetings in Rio de Janeiro, emphasizes collaboration on policies to mobilize private investment for clean energy technologies, renewable energy equipment, and low-carbon hydrogen. Both nations aim to leverage public funds to attract private capital, particularly for emerging markets and vulnerable countries. US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen highlighted the potential economic benefits, while Brazil’s Finance Minister Fernando Haddad expressed hope for rapid implementation of these initiatives to support a fair and sustainable transition and greater regional integration.
