SANTA CATARINA’S PORT TERMINALS EXPAND TO MEET SOARING DEMAND

Private port terminals in Santa Catarina are investing in infrastructure to meet market demands. Portonave is upgrading its dock with a R$1 billion investment to deepen the channel, allowing larger container ships. The terminal, which specializes in frozen and refrigerated products, will operate with one berth during upgrades. Porto Itapoá plans to double its capacity to 4 million TEUs and is increasing outlets for refrigerated containers to support meat exports. TESC in São Francisco do Sul is expanding its grain storage and shipping capabilities, with plans to build a new silo to meet the growing demand for agricultural exports. These investments aim to enhance competitiveness and accommodate increasing international trade.
