WHEAT HARVEST IN PARANÁ EXPECTED TO REACH 3.61 MILLION TONS

The wheat harvest in Paraná is expected to be 3.61 million tons in 2023, a 1% decrease from the previous year due to the state’s severe drought, which primarily affected the northern area. When the harvest begins in August, more information about the final volume will be available. In contrast, the 2023-24 second corn crop moved quickly, covering 76% of the cultivated area. Despite a 5% increase in cultivated area over the previous year, the expected production is 12.96 million tons, down 9% owing to weather losses. Early planting in the west of the state contributed significantly to the harvest’s advance.
