MATO GROSSO HARVESTED 62.4% OF THE SOWN AREA OF THE 2023-24 WINTER CORN CROP

According to the Mato Grosso Institute of Agricultural Economics (Imea), the 2023-24 winter corn harvest increased by 24.83% last week, reaching 62.4% of the sown area. This increase is 29.34% more than the preceding harvest season and 18.54% higher than the five-year average. The mid-north region accounts for 77.25% of the harvested area. Cotton harvest for 2023-24 achieved 1.19% of the planted area, below last year’s harvest and the previous five-year average. The Northeast region is further along, accounting for 6.15% of the total harvested area.
