IMPORTS GROW 14% IN PORTOS DO PARANA IN 2024

In the first five months of 2024, cargo handling for imports at Portos do Paraná saw a 14% increase, reaching a total of 10,335,801 tons in comparison to 9,074,119 tons during the same period in 2023. The CEO of Portos do Paraná, Luiz Fernando Garcia, emphasized the effectiveness of the port’s infrastructure and logistics. Wheat imports surged by 28% to 171,849 tons, primarily due to the lower quality of the recent domestic crop. Malt imports also experienced a 5% growth, totaling 227,357 tons. There was a remarkable 38% increase in container movement, driven by the rise in electronics, chemicals, and automotive shipments. Fertilizer imports remained stable at 3,903,832 tons.
