THE SECOND CORN HARVEST BEGINS IN MATO GROSSO DO SUL

The second crop corn harvest for 2023-2024 in Mato Grosso do Sul (MS) has started and reached 4.2% of the total area by June 14, according to data from SIGA-MS. The harvest progress is more advanced in the south (5.1%) compared to the center (3.1%) and the north (0.5%). This represents a 4.16% improvement over the same period last year. The second crop is expected to cover 2.2 million hectares and produce 11.4 million tons, a decrease of 19.2%.
