BRAZIL’S CORN STOCK TOTALS 21 MILLION TONS BY THE END OF 2023

The stock of agricultural products in Brazil totaled 44.6 million tons at the end of the second half of 2023, reflecting a 13.2% increase from the same period in 2022, according to the IBGE. Corn and soybean stocks rose by 15.8% and 39.6% respectively, while wheat stocks dropped by 13.3%. These changes are linked to a record harvest in 2023. Corn stocks reached 21 million tons, soybeans 11.3 million, wheat 6.4 million, rice 1.5 million, and coffee 1.1 million. The country’s agricultural storage capacity grew by 4.7%, reaching 210.9 million tons, with silos comprising 52.2% of this capacity.
