The agribusiness GDP in Minas Gerais grew by 5.9% in 2023, reaching a record R$ 228.6 billion, R$ 13.2 billion more than in 2022, representing 2.2% of the state’s total GDP. According to the Fundação João Pinheiro (FJP), this increase was driven by significant production growth in coffee, soybeans, sugarcane, and corn, despite falling commodity prices in the second half of 2023. There were also advancements in the production of food, beverages, cellulose, and biofuels, with gains in both volume and prices.
