PLANTS EXPORTED 167.64 MILLION LITERS OF ETHANOL IN MAY, AN ANNUAL INCREASE OF 83.7%

In May, Brazilian ethanol exports surged 83.7% year-over-year, reaching 167.64 million liters compared to 91.28 million liters in May 2023. This also marked a 7.1% increase from April. Despite higher volumes, the average export price dropped 16.9% to US$567.10 per cubic meter from US$682.79/m³ in May 2023. Consequently, monthly revenue rose 52.5% to US$95.07 million. Major importers included the United States, South Korea, Singapore, the Netherlands, and Japan. Year-to-date, 924 million liters were exported, a 7.3% increase, but the average price fell 21.2% to US$557.76/m³, leading to a 15.4% revenue decline to US$515.29 million.
