CERRADINHO WILL INVEST R$189 MILLION TO PRODUCE 540 THOUSAND TONS OF VHP SUGAR

Cerradinho Bioenergia announced a R$189 million investment to expand its VHP (Very High Polarization) sugar factory in Chapadão do Céu (GO), increasing production capacity to 540,000 tons per year. This investment will implement the plant’s second phase, adding a capacity of 20,000 50-kg bags (1,000 tons) of VHP sugar per day. The expansion aims to capitalize on favorable sugar prices and enhance competitiveness by increasing the sugarcane grinding mix for sugar production. The unit will potentially have a production mix of 70% sugar and 30% ethanol, but can fully shift to biofuel if needed. The second phase is set to start in the first half of the 2025/26 harvest.
