PORT OF PORTO VELHO SAW JUMP IN CARGO HANDLING IN Q1 2024

The Port of Porto Velho experienced a significant increase in cargo handling, with a 19.75% rise in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the previous year. The volume reached 656,206.92 tons, mainly due to the growing automobile fleet in Rondônia and increased exports of wood, limestone, and soybeans. The resumption of bonded cargo operations is expected to sustain this positive trend. These results highlight the port’s expansion and its contribution to regional economic development, underscoring its efficiency and importance.
