USINA JACAREZINHO PLANS TO CRUSH 2.4 MILLION TONS OF SUGARCANE

The Jacarezinho plant, part of the Maringá group, plans to crush 2.4 million tons of sugarcane in the 2024/25 harvest, slightly lower than the previous cycle due to decreased rainfall and potential La Niña effects. Emphasizing sustainability, they aim for 81.9 tons per hectare and 10.7 tons of Total Recoverable Sugars (ATR) per hectare. The harvest is expected to be sugar-intensive, with 72% allocated to sugar production. Investments include a dry cleaning system improving efficiency and waste reuse for energy generation. A new biofactory aims to replace chemical pesticides with biological products. Maringá Energia, the cogeneration unit, aims to maintain electricity production at the previous level. The Maringá group prioritizes technological advancement and sustainability with ESG indicators.
