BULK SUGAR EXPORTS RISE 352% IN PARANÁ PORTS IN MARCH

In March, sugar exports from the ports of Paraná saw a significant increase. The volume of bulk sugar grew by 352% to 419,899 tons, while sack sales increased by 289% to 70,220 tons. This growth is credited to the record sugarcane harvest in 2023, which boosted production and exports. Changes in world trade, such as growing demand from India due to production issues, also contributed to this growth. Port of Paranaguá, Brazil’s second-largest sugar-handling port, is confident about future productivity, which stresses the commodity’s national importance.
