CONAB FORECASTS BRAZIL’S RECORD SUGAR PRODUCTION IN 2024-25

According to Conab, Brazil’s sugar output is expected to reach a record high of 46.29 million tons in 2024-25, despite a smaller sugarcane harvest. The harvest is expected to be about 685.86 million tons, down 3.8% owing to poor weather in the central-south area. Sugar output is forecast to grow in Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso do Sul, and Goiás, while decreasing in São Paulo. The central-south area, which is the primary sugarcane grower, may also see a decline in harvest, with production per hectare likely to fall.
