The first corn crop harvest in Brazil has reached 46.4% of the planted area, marking a 3.6 percentage point increase in a week but a 1.2 point season delay, according to Conab. Leading states in harvest progress include Paraná (91%), São Paulo (85%), Santa Catarina, and Rio Grande do Sul (80%). Bahia lags behind with only 5.2% of the summer corn area harvested. Meanwhile, planting for the second 2023/24 corn harvest has reached 98.7% of the planned area, ahead by 1.9 percentage points compared to last week and 2.4 points ahead of the previous season, with Mato Grosso, Goiás, and Tocantins already completing planting.
