BNDES approved financing of R$ 495 million for the modernization of the Port of Paranaguá, Paraná. The project, executed by APPA, foresees a total investment of R$ 647 million. Works include a grain railway system, road adequacy, and pollution reduction. It will increase railway reception capacity to 24 million tons annually and reduce congestion. Financing is part of the BNDES Azul project, which supports initiatives related to the maritime economy, totaling R$ 22 billion in the portfolio, including maritime transport and coastal tourism projects.
