The Minister of Agriculture, Carlos Fávaro, announced that the National Supply Company (Conab) is preparing notices to provide government support for the commercialization of wheat. According to Fávaro, Conab is already taking measures to support the dairy, corn, rubber, and cocoa sectors, and now they are extending it to the wheat sector. The estimated measure to support the commercialization of around 1.5 million tons of wheat is BRL 400 million. Fávaro added that the notice is being prepared and will be announced soon. This measure is in response to the request of cooperatives from Paraná and Rio Grande do Sul, who have asked the government to auction the Product Disposal Premium (PEP) and Equalizer Premium Paid to Rural Producers (Pepro) due to the low wheat prices in the market.
