The handling of 767.8 thousand tonnes in April guaranteed the Port of Imbituba the best monthly result ever achieved in the port complex and the end of a historic first four months. Approximately 2.5 million tonnes were handled from January to April, which means a 6% increase in tonnage compared to last year and the largest expansion ever recorded for the period. Since the beginning of the year, the Port has received 101 ships, an 8.6% growth in the number of vessels handled compared to January-April 2022. From January to April, most of the cargoes that passed through the Port of Imbituba, 83.4%, were of the dry bulk type, mainly petroleum coke, corn and soybean meal, salt, corn, and bituminous coal. The lead of the bulk carriers was boosted by the movement of agricultural grains, which presented an increase of approximately 200% in relation to the 1st four months of last year.
