More than 13 million tonnes: this is the total amount of cargo handled at the ports of Rio Grande do Sul over the first four months of 2023. A good part of this number, i.e., 12,729,820 tonnes, was handled only at the public wharf and the Rio Grande port complex. The Rio Grande Port had a positive variation of 6.03% compared to the same period last year. Of the 1,273 ships received in the three units of the Public Company, 1,046 of them were destined for the Rio Grande Port. Dry bulk leads the handling in Rio Grande, with 7,746,016 tonnes. General cargo comes next, with 3,667,482 tonnes, and dry bulk, with 1,316,322 tonnes. Among the goods with an increase are soybeans in grain (79.22%), phosphate (79.21%), rice (8.27%), and potassium chloride (7.38%).
