Vila Velha will receive a R$ 550 million investment from Consórcio Navegantes Logística to implement bulk liquid fuel terminals at the harbor Cais do Atalaia. The consortium was the winner of the public tender to lease a greenfield area with approximately 74 thousand m² for 25 years, which will enable a significant increase in the port’s capacity to handle fuels. “Added to the current dynamic capacity of the other terminals of the Vila Velha port complex – which is 2.55 million tonnes/year – the implementation of 16 new vertical tanks for fuel storage will raise this capacity to 4.3 million tons/year. That is, an increase of 1.76 million tonnes/year,” informed Director Bismark Duarte. According to him, the activities planned for this terminal, whose draft is 12.5 meters deep, will be: loading and unloading of ships and tanker trucks; reception and storage of products; analysis and weighing of products; and cleaning of bulk liquid tanks.
